Rapper T.I Announces Retirement From Live Performances

on

T.I. has officially announced his retirement from live performances, signaling the end of an era for the influential rapper.

The 44-year-old artist, born Clifford Harris Jr., will take the stage for the last time at the 93.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball on December 19 in Atlanta.

During an appearance on 96.1 The Beat’s Rari at 2 show, T.I. expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to conclude his performance career but made it clear that he has no desire to continue. “I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore and I will not be performing,” he stated. “I don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t want people to pay me to hop around and sweat for their entertainment.”

When asked if he would entertain future performance offers, T.I. confirmed he would respond—only to decline. He hinted at a possible return to the stage under his own terms, leaving fans with a glimmer of hope for the future.

The rapper’s decision to step back comes on the heels of a significant legal victory that has reshaped his financial landscape. T.I. and his wife, Tiny, were awarded an impressive $71 million in damages after winning a lawsuit against MGA Entertainment. The couple accused the toy company of infringing on their OMG Girlz music group’s intellectual property rights through the creation of L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. dolls that closely resembled their brand. Following a three-week trial, jurors found that 13 of the dolls had “infringed on the trade dress and misappropriated the name, image, and likeness” of the OMG Girlz.

The upcoming Jingle Ball show, where T.I. will perform one last time, promises an exciting lineup, featuring artists such as Tinashe, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, Khalid, and The Kid LAROI.
