Newcastle down Tottenham to jump up to top four in EPL
Newcastle United move to top 4 ahead of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea as Manchester city move within two points of log leaders Arsenal
Every weekend promises to be exciting as every football fanatic looks forward to his favorite teams taking to the pitch to showcase their prowess and earning the three points that would push them towards the title victory. This past weekend was no different with a host of English Premier League matches taking place from Saturday and others on sunday 23 October 2022.
Liverpool kicked off game week 12 away at Nottingham Forest in which the visiting team lost 1-0 courtesy of a well worked out goal by Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi.
Current champions Manchester city cruised past Brighton & hove Albion with an emphatic 3-1 victory courtesy of a brace from Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne. The visiting side got a consolation goal from Leandro Trossard but it was a little too late.
Later the same day Manchester United and Chelsea renewed their rivalry spanning many years ad they took to Stamford Bridge in London. The match began well with both teams showing the urge to score goals but no one was able to put the ball behind the net until the 87th minute when Chelsea was awarded a penalty which was well placed by Jorginho.
The home team thought they had stolen the three points only for the visitors to strike back with a late equalizer from their newly acquired midfielder Casemiro. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
On Sunday league leaders Arsenal were held to 1-1 draw by Southampton at st. Mary’s stadium while Tottenham Hotspurs lost 2-1 to newly revamped Newcastle United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Pop Star Ariana Grande Slows Down Music To Embrace Musical Theatre Roots
Ariana Grande recently shared her plans to slow down her music career, a move she knows might surprise her fans.
Speaking on the ‘Las Culturistas’ podcast, the 31-year-old pop star revealed how playing Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming Wicked film adaptation has reignited her love for musical theatre. While she promised not to abandon music entirely, Grande explained she no longer envisions keeping up her intense pop music pace.
“It is my heart,” she said, adding, “I’m always going to make music and perform, but not at the rate I have been for the past 10 years.”
Grande, whose career began with the Broadway musical 13 at age 15, reflected on the joy of returning to her roots. “Reconnecting with this part of myself and finding roles to use my comedy and musical theatre background has been healing,” she shared, emphasizing the emotional importance of this shift.
The former Victorious star acknowledged the mixed reactions to her casting as Glinda, admitting on the ‘Sentimental Man’ podcast that she felt the need to prove herself. “It has to be earned,” she said, highlighting the training she undertook to prepare.
Grande aims to balance her love for theatre with continued work in music—at a pace that feels more sustainable for her future.
