Adele, the 36-year-old powerhouse singer, is closing out her acclaimed Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas with a revelation that highlights both her resilience and humor.

The singer, who shares a 12-year-old son, Angelo, with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, has been performing in Sin City for two years. However, during Friday night’s (October 26, 2024) show, she opened up to fans about battling a debilitating ear infection that she described as “worse than the pain of childbirth.”

Speaking candidly to the audience, Adele detailed the ordeal, admitting, “I have an ear infection, which is pretty grim. I’ve never had one before. It’s the most painful thing that’s ever, ever happened to me. It’s even worse than childbirth!” She explained that the infection was caused by a rare waterborne bacteria, which has proven challenging to treat.

The Easy On Me singer had initially been prescribed the wrong antibiotics, which prolonged her discomfort. “For a few days, I was on the wrong antibiotics,” she shared. “When I finally got the right ones, I wanted to chop my ear off a few times because of the pain. But thankfully, I’m no longer in pain—just a bit deaf in my left ear!” Despite this, she pushed forward with her Vegas shows, demonstrating her commitment to her fans even in the face of severe discomfort.

Beyond her career on stage, Adele also gave fans a peek into her personal life and future plans. Now engaged to sports agent Rich Paul, the singer expressed her love for cats, sharing her dream of creating a sanctuary within her home to care for rescue cats. “I’m absolutely going to become an emergency foster cat mum once I move into my new house,” she revealed. “I’ve created a room that my fiancé doesn’t even know exists, with loads of crates built into the wall and all the supplies. He’ll never know about it… well, he might now since I’ve said it on stage. But honestly, I’d happily do it full-time!”

Adele’s Vegas residency has been filled with memorable moments, but her recent health struggle stands out as a testament to her dedication. From battling a rare infection to joking about her secret cat haven, Adele’s honesty and humor continue to captivate her audience as she prepares to bring this chapter to a close.
