Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were determined to surpass the “sky-high” expectations of fans for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’.

Both actors returned to their iconic roles, Reynolds as ‘The Merc with a Mouth’ and Jackman as the mutant anti-hero, in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster. They have shared their dedication to making this film a fan-favorite and fulfilling their own commitment to their characters.

In an interview with Deadline, Jackman, 55, expressed, “Both of us had extremely high hopes for this movie. There was a sense of risk because we wanted to exceed those expectations. These characters are incredibly important to us.”

He emphasized the importance of their friendship, saying, “Our friendship is one of the most significant aspects of my life. We aimed to deliver the best we could, and for me, it has surpassed all expectations.”

Reynolds, 47, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the high expectations from the audience. “The audience’s expectations are immense. You can’t just meet them; you have to go beyond, not just in a single scene but throughout the entire movie.”

He continued, “What I am most proud of is the thoughtfulness in every frame of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine.’ We dedicated so much time and attention to every detail, and it has truly paid off.”

The film brings Reynolds’ Deadpool and Jackman’s Wolverine together to confront the reality-warping villain Cassandra Nova, portrayed by Emma Corrin, 28. The actors’ commitment to their characters and the film’s meticulous production aim to make this an outstanding addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
