Renowned Atlanta-based Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee recently underwent a successful eye surgery in the US.

She shared the positive news with her fans on TikTok, expressing her gratitude and relief. In a heartwarming video, Vanessa, wearing a red eye patch, danced joyfully with her husband, Rotimi. “When your eye surgery was a success, Glory to God,” she captioned the video.

The surgery marks a significant milestone in Vanessa’s ongoing battle with a debilitating eye condition. In 2020, she revealed she was clinically blind in one eye, a condition that had developed over time. “I’m clinically blind in one eye as well, but that has not stopped me from pursuing my biggest dreams,” she declared, showing her determination to not let her condition hinder her ambitions.

Vanessa, also known as VeeMoney, has been open about her struggles with keratoconus, a progressive eye disorder that causes the cornea to thin and bulge, leading to blurred vision and light sensitivity. Despite the challenges, she has continued to shine in her career, displaying remarkable resilience.

The TV personality shares two children with Nigerian actor and hitmaker Rotimi.
