Single Kiasi Returns To Showmax For A Third Season

Following its successful debut in 2022 as the third Showmax Original in Kenya, “Single Kiasi” is set to return for its highly anticipated third season on March 5, 2024. The new episodes will be released every Tuesday, offering fans a weekly dose of drama and intrigue.

“Single Kiasi” follows the lives of three women as they navigate the complexities of friendships, romance, and careers in the vibrant city of Nairobi. Garnering immense popularity, the show has consistently ranked among the top 10 most-watched titles on Showmax in Kenya for two consecutive years.

Acknowledged for its excellence, the hit drama series received nominations for Best TV Series at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) and also earned nods for Best Viewers’ Choice and Lead Actress (Gathoni Mutua) at the 2022 Kalasha Awards.

Director Philippe Bresson expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support, stating, “We are very honored by the love Single Kiasi has received so far, and for all the award nominations. It means that we are doing something right for our audience.”

Co-director Grace Kahaki teased about the upcoming season, promising fans an even more compelling and thrilling experience. “Season 3 is going to be our best one yet,” she declared. “The fans can expect a sexier, fast-paced, and exciting new season.”

In this latest installment, viewers can expect deeper exploration into the lives of Rebecca, Sintamei, and Mariah as they confront new challenges and embark on journeys of self-discovery.

Rebecca (played by Faith Kibathi), still grappling with the aftermath of being jilted at the altar, finds herself drawn back into a romantic entanglement with her ex-boyfriend Nick (Lenana Kariba). As they cautiously navigate their rekindled relationship, the question looms: Will history repeat itself, or will they find lasting happiness?

Meanwhile, Sintamei (portrayed by Gathoni Mutua) embraces polyamory with Giselle (Ciku Shire) and Marcel (Quincy Rapando), embarking on a journey of exploration and self-liberation. On the other hand, Mariah (played by Minne Kariuki) confronts her insecurities about aging, resorting to drastic measures to reclaim her fading youth and beauty.

Joining the cast for this dynamic season are Nini Wacera, Jimmi Gathu, Ilya Frank, Briyanna Wanjiku, and Wanjira Longauer, with cameo appearances from Joy Kendi, Fena Gitu, Bushra Sakshi, Yvonne Kisa, Kamene Goro, Anne Mwaura, and Julius Otieno.

“Single Kiasi S3” forms part of Showmax’s exciting February 2024 lineup, launching alongside a revamped platform featuring a fresh look, a new app, and an entirely new product suite. The Kenyan drama joins a diverse array of Showmax Originals from South Africa, Nigeria, and Ghana, promising audiences an exhilarating entertainment experience.
