Euro 2020 award winners

There were both good and bad moments in the Euro 2020 games as countries battled out to show their prowess and win the title.



In every tournament players are recognized for their exemplary performances in helping their team achieve results. Such events also include the recently concluded Euro 2020 where Italy left Wembley in celebrations after a triumph over England.

Here are the individual categories awarded:

Golden boot

Was won by Christiano Ronaldo of Portugal with a total of 5 goals. He won the tie-breaker, of having an assist, after he tied with Patrik Schick of Czech republic on goals scored.

Golden glove

Jordan Pickford won after keeping 5 clean sheets in the 7 matches he started for England. His team lost in the finals to Italy.

Player of the tournament

Was won by Gianluigi Donnoruma after making crucial saves in the tournament that propelled Italy to the finals and eventually made penalty saves that confirmed Italy’s victory over England.

Young player of the tournament

Pedri, the18-year-old Spaniard won and went on to become the youngest ever player from Spain to play in Euros. Prior to this he had just won four senior caps for Spain.

Play maker of the tournament

Was won by Steven Zuber of Switzerland with 4 assist in the four matches he played. He also adds up as a midfielder for Eintracht Frankfurt, a German club

Records and statistics

Italy and Spain scored the most goals with 13 goals each while Finland, Turkey, and Scotland scored the least goals with one goal each. England defense was the best conceding only 2 goals while Ukraine had the worst defense conceding 10 goals.

Team of the tournament

Shockingly, big names missed out on the team of the tournament, such included Cristiano, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden hazard and Ciro immobile. Italy took five slots in the team, England took 3 slots while Belgium, Denmark and Spain each took one slot.

New disappearing media feature for WhatsApp users

If you do not open the photo or video within 14 days of its posting, the content will expire in the chat.



WhatsApp users can now send disappearing images and videos, this is following the roll out of the ‘view once’ feature on Tuesday, August 3.

This feature allows photos and videos to be deleted from the chat after the recipient has opened it. The user gets to decide whether the media they are sending should disappear or not. This is possible by tapping the ‘1’ timer icon at the left side of the send button that appears when sharing media.

According to Facebook, the new feature is aimed at giving users more control over their privacy. Giving an example, WhatsApp mentions sharing something sensitive like a Wi-Fi password requires privacy that is made possible by the feature.

WhatsApp's 'View Once' Feature Lets You Send Disappearing Photos, Videos That Can Be Viewed a Single Time

Here are some important point to note about the feature;

  • Content will not be stored in Photos or Recipients Gallery .
  • Once you send a photo or video for immediate viewing, you will never see it again.
  • You may not distribute, store, star or share photos or videos that were sent or received when the content viewing feature was immediately turned on.
  • You can only see if the recipient has opened a photo or video to watch immediately if he or she has turned on the read notification feature.
  • If you do not open the photo or video within 14 days of its posting, the content will expire in the chat.
  • You must select an instant viewing feature every time you want to send a photo or video view immediately.
  • Instant viewing content can be restored from the backup if the message was not opened during backup. If the photo or video has already been opened, the content will not be included in the backup and cannot be restored.
  • Only send photos or videos with instant viewing content to people you trust. For example, it is possible for someone to: Screenshot or screen content content before it disappears. You will not be notified if someone takes a screenshot or a screen recording; Take a photo or video using another camera before the media disappears.
  • Encrypted content can be stored for a few weeks on WhatsApp servers after sending it.

Bahati and wife Diana sign lucrative deal

Bahati is the brand ambassador of Indomie Kenya, Zoe men lotion, and Daykio Real Estate Agency



The couple have landed another endorsement deal with Raha Premium Maize Meal Company located in the Mount Kenya region.

On Tuesday, Bahati shared the big news on his Instagram saying how proud he was to work with the miller company as their brand ambassador. He said this is another big win for him and his wife Diana Marua.

“Look at God!!! Today the Bahati’s are happy to announce that we have signed the official brand ambassadors of Kenya’s number one maize meal flour Raha Premium, in Mount Kenya region they call it #KAVAGARA!!!” Bahati added.

His wife Diana was not left behind as she also took to Instagram to share the news with her fans. “Nothing Compares to this Flour!! Taste it and Tell me about it. We joined the Premium Family, nothing but QUALITY,” Diana wrote.

In addition bahati is also the brand ambassador of Indomie Kenya, Zoe men lotion, and Daykio Kenya, which is a real estate company.

Carol Radull leaves Radio Africa Group after 21 years

She was among the pioneers of mpashogram and Radio Jambo in the 21 years she has been at Radio Africa Group.



Saturday 31, July marked the last day for seasoned media personality, Carol Radull, at Radio Africa Group after 21 years. Radull made the announcement on Instagram.

She joined Africa Radio Group in 2000 as a news reporter and soon she was promoted to be head of news at Kiss 100.

In 2008, she launched Radio Jambo and became the station’s first programme controller, after which she went on to hire the likes of Ghost Mulee, Fred Arocho, Bramwell Mwololo and many more.

She has been with radio Africa Group  since 2000 when she joined as a news reporter.

She was also among the pioneers of Mpashogram in 2012 and Bamba Sport in 2016.

“While I respect all the opportunities I got at Radio Africa; most of them management opportunities; I never believed I was designed to push papers and write reports,” Radull wrote.

Before joining Radio Africa Group she was the head East African Producer for the BBC World Services between 1997 and 1999.

She thanked all her fans for supporting her and her shows at Radio Africa Group and promised to make a return to radio soon.
